 Christmas is Here
As I look up at the Christmas tree
Taking in the bright colors, red and green
I can't help the smile that crosses my face.
I'm thankful for all we have,
But it all seems like a haze.
Could it be true that the day is here,
Could it be true that Santa is near.
Looking at up at that big bright star
I just can't help thinking how lucky we are.
My tummy is full to the point of fatness,
I had cookies and chicken, all my mother's best
Can you believe all the presents down there,
Yes, this is my favorite time of the year.
It doesn't matter that it does not snow,
I could buy a snowman wrapped up in a bow
The countless children gather around their tree
All jumping and asking, "Is that one for me?"
Of course the day will end, like every other day,
But this night is different; it's unique in some special way.
The stars twinkle brighter
And the sighs of night are replaced with laughter. |
